i highly doubt that you have i didn't call you uneducated, i said you must be if you disagree with my statement - by disagreeing, you made it true in my mind. however, i still believe your statement is false. can you explain to me how you've come to this conclusion? i've never heard this before. and once again, you saying i am not a christian doesn't make it true. your opinion of me means nothing, just make sure your facts are straight before you mislead others.

It's not me saying it.
Consider: there are set characteristics one must have in order to be considered a Republican. There are set characteristics one must have in order to be considered a homosexual. And there are set characteristics one must have in order to be considered a Christian.
On another note, if you're so damn educated, tell me: how many years have you studied? At what school? With what professors? Who have you read? When did you read them?

I say the big bang theory, all the evidense is there. Sorry to the people who disagree.
No. A singularity 'exploded' - we don't know how. It could have been the result of a "Big Crunch" (theoretical situation where the universe collapses in on itself, before exploding out again) or even a black hole. Or something else.
The Big Bang, the theory of evolution, and almost every other scientific theory under the sun is not completely opposed to a belief in God. Many, many people - myself included - believe that God created us through such, either by directly having a hand in it (so to speak), or by "winding it up and letting it go." Science and religion are not mutually exclusive. By refusing to educate yourself and refusing to realise this, you are making Christianity, and religion as a whole, look bad as well as yourself.
(edit: Look at it this way. If this is indeed the "first multi/universe" and not the result of a Big Crunch or similar, an infinite amount of energy would be needed to create it (energy and matter can not be created or destroyed, only changed and transferred to paraphrase one of the most well-known laws of physics). Therefore, that could have come from God. It doesn't mean that the Big Bang is wrong, it's still the Big Bang).
Quote: from phosphorescence at 3:25 pm on Nov. 13, 2008 do you? you've got to be pretty uneducated to disagree with that... but it's ok, because i didn't ask you :/ i'll call myself what i'd like, whether you agree or not. it's not your place to tell my what i am, or what i'm not. No, but Christianity teaches that the world was created through Jesus Christ. If you don't believe that, you are not a Christian. And don't presume to call me uneducated, toad. I can guarantee I've studied this more than you have.

According to Christianity, Jesus = God the Son, and no tradition of Christianity believes that the world was not created through Jesus somehow. calm down, sweety. i said it's what iii believe. try not to get too offended by a 100lb girl and according to what i believe, yes the father the son and the holy spirit is a trinity, therefore they're one being. but technically, Jesus was the NAME of the perfect man who walked the earth, and died so that we could have a happy ending. God is the higher being that created the universe and everything in it, etc. idk about you, but i tend to refer to Jesus by his name, and call the creator "God". but it's ok, believe what you'd like. i promise i won't get mad :[ So do you call yourself a Christian? Because you shouldn't.

do you?
And how again is God more than that then?
Did I miss the aspect when we found proof of a higher power's existance?
