I don't understand this...Do Jewish families sometimes still celebrate Christmas?  Like have honest Chrismas, not just Hanukka (sp)

My friend is ethnically Jewish and not many people know that.  On facebook, a girl wrote on his wall and said publicly "Merry Christmas!"....
He responded with "Thanks, how was yours?"
And then they talked about what each other got for Christmas...He actually answered and said what he got.

Do you think he was just saying that to be polite and keep it simple, rather than explaining?  Do you think he got those gifts for hannuka OR Christmas or both???

I just wonder WHY he never mentions that he's Jewish...I find it a little odd because I live in a proud Jewish area and no one is shy about saying it.

Why would he have occasion to mention it?

"Hey, how was your weekend?"
"I'm a jew you kno!11"
"K."
