How our bodies function by condemning us to death just to prolong our lives?

I mean, the human body is dependent on oxygen, yet oxidization is slowly killing the body.

Lol, we evolved to expire. That's heartening.

No, the chemical reaction involved with the oxygen is causing our bodies to rot.
I get your point, but I feel the word 'kill' is too strong a one in this case. I have very negative associations with it, as in killing is a voluntary act of bringing death upon a being. To me it's a word one would use in this context to make it sound stronger, but it wouldn't be fully justified logically speaking.

Yeah, semantics.

No, it's just funny how the second we are born something necessary to survive is actually killing us.
That's an overstatement. Our bodies wear out, that's all.
