I am not saying that he isn't real. There's one thing I don't understand though. If he punishes those who don't have faith in him or believe he is real then why couldn't he just automatically make people have faith in him? I mean he never showed himself to us, he left written records which leave people puzzled to if he exists? I am trying to make this sound the least rude as possible because if he is real I don't want him to be angry at me for questioning him. My point is. If he punishes those who don't have faith in him, why can't he appear in front of us and destroy all doubt of his existence?
A gift that is demanded is no gift at all. We all must find out for our selves
What exactly am I demanding?
You were saying "Why doesin't GOD just make us obey him".
I wasn't demanding anything. And obeying him and having faith in him are two different things. I don't think it's fair to put us in a world with all these different religions and beliefs of how we came to be, and supposedly get "punished" when we follow the "wrong" one. If I choose a religion other than Christianity it isn't fair to punish me for not having "faith". Cause there are other religions too that punish you for not having it either. So shouldn't god just make himself known if he wanted the confusion of which religion is right to vanish? I don't think it's right to hide yourself from the people you created in a world with all these different beliefs, only to punish them if they follow something else because they aren't sure of which belief. That's all I am saying. |

Because that defeats the purpose of faith.
Short and Sweet. K now on to you moonscar. Lets say i was god -Blasphemy!!!- now i created this amazing world full of people i could manipulate and pretty much be a puppet master. But wheres the fun in that? It would be much more interesting to have no direct influence and see what happens
Ok then, don't get mad at them then when you give them a choice. |

God doesn't want to make people do anything they don't want to do. He just wishes that people would believe in Him and do good. This is just from my perspective. I believe that God wants us to make our own choices and won't judge us for the ones we do make or have made. He is always there to welcome us back into His heart and forgive us for the sins we have committed.
I believe that more then I do the claim that he would punish us.
Good people and bad people can't be equal
I didn't say they could. If you are referring to people who murder and commit crime then that's a different scenario. I don't think people with good intentions should be punished if they make a mistake.
Okay then, god punishes people because he gave everybody the choice...when people don't wanna try to look up the truth, that's totally their fault.
That's stupid. You can't look up what you call "The truth" and be 100 percent sure it's the truth. Like I said there are many different religions. We are human. If he gave us a choice it's sure a big one. With all the religions in the world how do we know which belief is right and which one isn't? How do we know if he even punishes us for not following everything the bible says? How is it that it's my fault and I need to be punished for following the "wrong" religion. I would gladly follow him if I were 100 percent sure his way was the right way but since we have never even seen him. Sure it's been written but a lot of things of other religions have been written too. Am I suppose to be expected to choose the right religion with all these scenario's and if I don't I deserved to be punished?
I'm not talking about religions now....I'm talking about god |

When did I "judge" you?
It seemed like you were when you were criticizing me for not having one stance. |

I'm sure God would be more understanding of the scenario.
This, I think, is the first thing you have been "sure" of so far. On what grounds do you have this assurance?
Well if God is truly good and truly perfect then I don't think he would make the mistake of persecuting people. Unless he is not an understanding God. I mean seriously. He has to understand that this world has many different religions brought to us telling us to have faith. He knows we are only human if he made us that way. With all these different beliefs, if we happen to follow the "wrong" religion I don't think it would be fair to judge mere humans from making such a wide based decision. Especially since humans come from different places and formed different beliefs and from the story I believe the whole story with Moses happened in one part of the world. I just don't think it would be fair to punish people in such a scenario. And don't judge me for not having strict religious views. |
