As a Christian, hypothetically, would I go to hell if I killed 1000 men?

Discuss....

How can you question something you don't even believe in?

Taking things out of context always works... good job.

That's EXACTLY what you said. I didn't take anything out of context.

Aaand you just insulted Christians again with the "less than dust" comment.

As far as this topic goes, I will say one more thing. A quote from Claude Rains as Captain Renault in Casablanca that I think should be every Christian's answer to atheists when they pick and choose what we should believe:

"Oh, please, monsieur. It is a little game we play. They put it on the bill, I tear up the bill. It is very convenient."

I'm not even attempting to be insulting. But your beliefs are just so ridiculous I guess it's easy to do it accidentally.

And yes, it's highly convenient. We provide you with reasons for why your beliefs are incorrect and you just ignore it. You offer no counter-evidence for my argument and instead play the "omg you're so insulting" card. Lol. Forgive me if I think that makes you look unintelligent. I wish god would've made you with more effective critical thinking skills.

ITT:  insults instead of actual arguments.

Don't worry, Waddiwasi, we've ALL been there FA completely lost her argument once she said that you had to believe in something to criticize it. THAT MAKES NO LOGICAL SENSE.

But, I give it to FA-- she used to be completely horrible at debating, now she's just gotten smarter what a devil.

That's not what I said...

That was a joke...
Well actually a snide/sarcastic comment.
I was pointing out your lack of Christian practice when you said you wouldn't forgive me by saying Jesus would.
Since I do not think that Jesus has such ambiguous powers as "forgiveness," and I have made it very clear that I am an atheist, I didn't actually mean/want Jesus for forgive me.
I don't really give a fuck, because Jesus died a long ass time ago and he's less than dust now. So his cognitive gifts of forgiveness have long since gone.
Cosmo Brown Posted at 7:01 pm on April 25, 2012
Lol, said the atheist who thinks that Jesus will forgive atheists.  Not saying he won't, but you kept saying he will, which tells me that you don't even know the basics of what an atheist is supposed to "believe."
Waddiwasi Posted at 1:05 pm on April 25, 2012
Your arguments indicate otherwise, sorry.
Cosmo Brown Posted at 12:45 pm on April 25, 2012
I'm Catholic.  I had better damn well know about it, and I do.
Waddiwasi Posted at 8:47 am on April 25, 2012
Cosmo I understand that you feel strongly about this and that you're trying to make a point. I feel strongly about it too. But please learn more about this subject before you try to argue against it. Explaining all of this over and over to you is just wasting my time.

You can never prove that something doesn't exist. You can't prove a negative. But there is a lot of evidence that backs up the claim, however there will never be enough evidence so that scientists feel 100% comfortable saying that no gods exist because they simply do not have the means to know everything about the world/universe.

Scientists can talk about how god probably doesn't exist and use their evidence that heavily supports this claim. But coming out and claiming that god doesn't exist when they do not have all of the information would go against the scientific method.

But the majority of scientists are atheists/agnostics because of the evidence that they do have, which disproves the god theory. And to them, this means that god at the very least probably doesn't exist.
This is why the burden of proof falls on Christians. It should be much more simple to prove that, for example, a pink unicorn does exist than to prove that it doesn't. Because it is impossible to examine every inch of the universe and analyze the existence or nonexistence of a pink unicorn.

The fact that Christians are professing such a ridiculous claim based upon absolutely no evidence that god exists means that it is their job to prove that god exists. Do you get the point now? Why should we have to prove that god doesn't exist when your group has offered up absolutely no proof (other than the Bible) that god exists?

But it's cool. It will always be impossible to prove that god doesn't exist. But there is definitely more evidence on the "god doesn't exist" side.

One contradiction-in-one-sentence sundae from Ben & Jerry's, please. Quick, before Waddiwasi tells me there's something in the Bible that says ice cream is the food of the devil!

Also:

How is that a contradiction?
Regardless of whether you believe in the premises as true or not, there is no internal inconsistency.
