Aside from the legal question, isn't it an advantage to have some slightly older person, or maybe considerably older, give you your first sexual instruction and practice? It gives you reliable information instead of myths and also some self confidence. My older brother arranged that for me and I still am grateful for it. When my first personal girl friend experience occurred we both were able to enjoy it a lot more than if it had just been my first experimentation.

In retrospect, which would you prefer, instruction or experimentation?

I don't think it's a bad idea. My first gf was older than me and I'm grateful for what she did for me. 13 & 16 incidentally.

i think its a very good idea to have someone oler/more experienced to teach you. Some african cultures actually practice this. Girls over 10 are allowed to participate in the "training"...

I suppose for boys it's better to have some hands on instruction. In my case my first was with an experienced slightly older boy who was proud to tell and show me all about it. I'd really not want my first time  to be with a bumbling virgin.

I was afraid to try and have sex with a girl because I didn't want to look inadequate. When  I was almost 14 a girl asked me right out if I had ever had sex or been naked with a girl and after a few minutes of blushing I admitted that I hadn't. She was 15, almost 16, and just took me by the hand and led me to the workshop behind the garage, took off my and her clothes and talked and showed me through foreplay and sex She had to put my penis in her vagina for me the first time. After several times I got over my nervousness. I vote for hands on instruction and get it all over with.
