hey, i'm a senior in high school and my bf just graduated last year. we've been together for almost a year and i think we're ready for sex. Emotionally, i know it's okay b/c we love each other and we have a plan for our lives, but intelectually, i'm worried.

does anyone have advice, comments, opinions...please

I'm worried about the fact that if the something went wrong that I could get pregnant. We've talked about me getting pregnant before we're ready for kids and i've told him we won't keep it. I would not wanna even know what it would be, but he told me he would want try to keep it.

Any advice....

well you got all kind of stuff nowadays to prevent it
like condoms and pills and shit

first you have to say what are you exactly worried about
it doesn't sound to me like you really have an actual problem
then what the hell are you waiting for?

i have a friend who did that. she was with this guy for a year and they decided to have sex and then right after their one year anniversary she broke it off. and remember guys tend to be more concerned with having sex then finding/keeping love

Have you considered going onto the pill?
I'm talking about Birth Control. It would probably be not too bad to talk to your parents about it, if you wanted to seek their approval. Most girls in high school go on it, even if they aren't having sex, to just be more safe and help regulate hormones. So having a boyfriend for over a year is an even better reason.

I suggest you do that, but if you don't feel comfortable, using a condom and lube also is pretty effective, especially for the first time kind of thing, until you get used to it.

If you have any more concerns, please tell, I'll try and help you out here

Go on birth control and use a condom.
