With all the possible health hazards of birth, infant health (both physical and psychological, which are both significant concerns regarding infant circumcision), and the dangers of life in general, the fact that you would be worrying about foreskin cancer is mind boggling to me. Sounds like a lame excuse to exert your preferences on his body to me.

Kaijew went back and found where I previously posted mist of my opinion. Obviously it wasn't changed, and it wasn't just formed in the course of the thread. Regardless, have my reasons as I stated, and have not lied about it. Like it or not.
Like I said, it doesn't matter my reason, they just like to pick. Regardless of the fact that I have made the same comments in other discussions. Some how the supposed cosmetic reasons, that have nothing to do with my decision, and never claimed are valid because they disagree. I have never and would never circumcise my child just for cosmetic reasons. There are how many posts with me saying previously that I was unsure if I would do it. After a large amount of research, and doctors opinions, we came to the decision we did. I have posted many times about the risks of cancer in my family. Everyone also called me a liar when I said I couldn't take birth control. Most of the points were brought up from previously posted topics, yet no one called me a liar when they were quoted here. It wasn't until I actually stated them again that they are all of a sudden lies. Cases proven as to why I didn't want to bother posting me reasons.

I definetly see the point comparing it to removing fingers, but removing the foreskin, and taking off working digits of the hand are hardly the same thing.
It isn't exactly the same thing because they are different parts of the body, but the analogy was in regards to the point. The guarantee of a type 1 diabetic getting gangrene on the fingers, while higher than normal, isn't guaranteed, just as phimosis with an infant boy born into a family where a few of his relatives got it isn't guaranteed.
The other aspect of the analogy is that gangrene in the fingers isn't going to do more than simply require your fingers to be removed, just as the case with phimosis is with the foreskin. That's where it differs with penile cancer, where the cancer can spread and having cancer in your body is a hell of a lot worse than not having your foreskin.
It is just about weighing out the pros and cons, and for us, we lean towards it being reason enough, especially combined with the risk of cancer. Phimosis on it's own, would not be enough of a reason for us, but we are preventing two things, with one action.
I see. Most people who say circumcision should be banned, even for religious reasons, recognize that there are medically necessary reasons for it in rare circumstances.
