that being said, yeah i've experienced what i believe are flashbacks but it wasn't traumatic...
First, it's important to understand what a flashback is. No one ever suddenly starts tripping again for no reason days after taking LSD. Ever. The flashbacks that do occur can be split into three categories, two of which are laughably inconsequential and one of which is very rare and also nothing too serious.
First is Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Essentially, for example, you could have a really, really bad trip in the forest by your house, and then the next time you go into that forest you start to feel the same feelings of anxiety, loss of control, ect. It's not a matter of you getting high on a drug again as being upset by an experience; PTSD can occur with anything from household accidents to war.
Second is plastic memory, a phenomenon where you mind visually recalls past experiences. I sometimes have very mild instances of this--when I'm high every now and then I'll look at a tree and, by a trick of my mind, it will appear that the branches are moving slightly in a manner similar to when I was on LSD. You aren't hallucinating again so much as you are simply remembering what you once saw.
The final, and most serious, form of flashbacks is HPPD. Hallucinogen Persisting Perception Disorder is the closest to what most people think of when they think of flashbacks. Some hallucination from a trip (generally something like trailers or seeing spots of color similar to what occurs when you look directly into a bright light and then look away) persists after it, either constantly or sporadically. A small population of psychedelic users exhibit HPPD, which suggests that there may be some latent trait that makes one vulnerable to the disorder. Most individuals who exhibit HPPD used psychedelic drugs extensively, though there are some documented cases of individuals developing it after only using hallucinogens a few times. All in all it's not that severe and it is rare, but it's also certainly something to be aware of.
You should definately go here. Erowid is extremely helpful, and, for the most part, free of bias. LSD is certainly a substance thatyou would want to delve into the facts before dabbling in it.
if you do it enough then crack your back yes lol
The "flashbacks" aren't that bad, and they only happen on a RARE occasion. Mr. Sid isn't that great, but have fun if you want. Do me a favor and have a "druggysitter" while you do it, and don't have your car keys. :]
