I think it's because I have had some very bad examples. Both my grandmas smoked like a chimney and dranke like an Irishman. One of them is dying of Emphysema, and I'm sure the other has something. My grandpa died of lung cancer from smoking, and smoked pot. My dad is an ex meth head, ex alcoholic (so he says), and ex smoker. My mom had a drinking problem and is an ex smoker. I know what not to do.
It's just not a good idea. I have worked up out of the gutter my whole life. I see no reason to ruin all that for "A good time" or to look cool. I don't get what those kids think. What are your thoughts?
What is so magical about life? You fuck someone and have a kid? Then they have to go through the hard-work and daily shit that makes someone's life, and the ever worsening world and it's horrible people. I've done many jobs, traveled many places and I meet assholes almost every time. Love, isn't it wonderful? Trust me, after hard work, bills and inevitable arguments, the novelty wears off.
The only time you can truly feel good about something is by yourself. I drink, smoke tobacco and smoke drugs with recklessness. Only hoping for death and peace to come much quicker. Heck I don't care if I die tomorrow, go to jail, or even end up in a third world country fighting to live daily. Cause all you do is work and die pretty much. Hobbies, are nice but you'll only want more and more time for them, and you'll always not have enough.
It's all about the small moments to find happiness. The times you do crazy shit with your friends that make you laugh when you remember them years later. Or that great night of hot sex, blah blah. Enjoying a good toke or having a few beers will help you remember them. Or just to relax after a day of crap.
Not to ramble, if you are careful. There doesn't have to be negative effects of drugs. It doesn't automatically mean you are going to be a loser.
Anyhow, I grew out of that phase, and I'm glad I did- because I didn't want to be defined by them- or to live through them, after I saw myself for the first time in a crystal clear light under heavy doses of hallucinogens- I didn't want to stay there, I wanted to go out and put it to the test and conquer what life had to offer through its simple naked truth and find its marrow on my own without the aid of visionary tools.

That is arguable. Drinking a glass of wine once or twice a month is much less detriminitive than smoking a joint a day.
They are not crazy, they are not stupid, they are not idiots. These days, factual information is more available than it was before. We know the truth about more drugs that we once thought to be deadly and only harmful, because that is what our DARE officer taught us. And we were told to trust them, so we did. We don't need a DARE officer anymore. We can get the real information on our own. Straight from scientists. Therefore, we find out we don't need to be backed into corners and made to be afraid of everything under the sun that is against the law.
I never said I was afraid.

Are you genuinely confused by the idea of people looking for intoxication? No, I think they are idiots. I guess I didn't make that clear enough. So even if it's not an abuser. Like say it's someone who just wanted to feel and analyze that experience, someone who was interested in the effects like Albert Hoffman, the human test subjects of LSD for possible psychology uses, or the large movement of christians and religious people trying ecstasy at it's birth in Dallas because of the "spiritual" aspect. Is that person really stupid for being curious? Or is it only the abuser you'd say? EDIT: And I'm not trying to corner you or attack your beliefs, I'm just asking.

I think it is idiotic to even consider it, as it is usually almost garunteed that "curiosity" will turn into abusing.
What are your thoughts?
That not all drugs are the same thing and that this topic is based on a logical fallacy.

But it's a dumb habit. There are so many more important things in life to focus on, why piss away your time and money on something that could kill you?

I was speaking of safer drugs. I have done drugs for a long time. I am not addicted, I have no health problems because of the drugs I do. They do not have any negative effects on my life. My life is just fine. My mind has improved, in fact, since I started doing drugs.
Had I listened to what I was taught in school about marijuana and various other drugs, I would not be the person I am today, and nobody in my personal life is unhappy with the person I am today.
How? A glass of wine a day is actually healthy for you. It is still drinking.
I wouldn't say that at all. I don't drink. Usually, I'll have a glass of wine at Thanksgiving and Christmas, a glass of champagne on New Year's and a bellini on my birthday. 4 drinks a year.
It depends on the level of pot smoking, I guess, but I would say that I'm better off with my 4 drinks than smoking pot.
Over 3/4 have tried drugs or are on them. I have never touched anything, and I am never planning to try anything except for maybe limited alcohol. I think it's because I have had some very bad examples. Both my grandmas smoked like a chimney and dranke like an Irishman. One of them is dying of Emphysema, and I'm sure the other has something. what age when you say 3/4.
