everything you'll ever need to know about drugs. Google can help out with forums.
And your basis for this information is...?
This is LW. Intelligence and knowledge come here to die.
I'll continue to do it because I honestly don't care but this really isn't the place to be discussing drugs and there are indeed far better places to go. Contradictory? Perhaps.
On that note, for anyone who knows what I'm talking about, does the coalition still exist? Not that it seems this place is having the same battles it used to, but stupidity still runs pretty rampant.
Why am I still here? Grr. *sigh* Seems this place shall never return to what it once was, or perhaps we all just outgrew that as well.
if any of you have a serious question or just a general interest in psychoactive substance i would advise you to join a drug-specific board. so much of the stuff here is unbelievably wrong. Livewire is not the place to go for drug advice, because, surprise, almost nobody here does drugs. http://www.erowid.org everything you'll ever need to know about drugs. What he said
I feel like it's a bad idea to have "Drug Support Leaders" simply because drug advice is a hard thing to give, you really can't give it to someone else, they just have to have common sense. If someone is going to be asking "Can I drop 5 blotter squares on my first trip" I'm afriad that a Drug SL might just think that sounds fine, when in reality that would be a very high first time dose, and you don't know the weight of the person, or their age, but they would take your advice because you're a "Support Leader". Obviosly that's an extreme example, but many people will give many different dosage guidelines and advice, that would either confuse someone, or push someone into making a bad decision. I think I would feel better if it was like an "Experienced Drug User" badge, or something, but really I don't think it's a good idea...
That is quite incorrect... common sense is not only a subjective ideal, but it is meaningless if a person "thinks" he/she is using it, when in reality they are not.
Second, A drug support leader would not tell a first time LSD user to drop 5 hits their first time. Generally, i think, the DSL [in theory] would be delivering the very common sense you are advocating.
The badge name doesn't matter, the thing that matters is the fact that there would be a "taskforce" -if you will- of the folks on here that actually know their shit. And likewise, of people who --if they don't know the answer-- are able to set their ego aside and say, "I don't know the answer to that 100%, so check [www.url.com].
I think it would be a great idea for this forum, so that kids on here could actually use some of the advice on here.
We should have a sticky listing all the intelligent regulars on this forum to help people sort through responses/ quickly get a question answered.
There are others around here that can give good, knowledgeable advice about drugs, but you have to know who to listen to. Most that post are complete morons
almost nobody here does drugs. http://www.erowid.org
I do, and I'd like to be online more often to help but yes erowid is a great place to get real unbiased and non-bullshit information about drugs.
Accurate info is hard to find on here because people think there's strictly 2 perspectives to have regarding the subject of drug use; You either do use drugs (or smoke weed) or your 100% against drugs and anyone willing to do them.
Theres a fair share of bullshit in both directions - "Smoking marijuana will make you kill your family with an axe because it's the devil's personal creation to ruin the world" or "Drugs are awesome and fun, and abusing them has absolutely no consequences because that kind of stuff won't happen to ME"
you know?
