Heroin clinics.
Basically, in Vancouver (where drug abuse is high), doctors opened up a trial clinic where drug users could come and get free heroin.
Basically, when they did this, the crime rate lowered, since addicts no longer had to steal or fight to get money for drugs.
Also, since it was entirely sanitary and always used fresh needles, the risk of contracting a disease from using an unsterilized needle was eliminated, so long as you only obtained your fix from the clinic.
I thought this was very interesting and I completely support these clinics, actually.
But sadly, Alberta (where I live) is redneck country and people around here tend to be very conservative, old-fashioned and closeminded, so I don't know if it will ever be a reality here.
What are your thoughts on this clinics? Do you agree or disagree and why?
Personally, I think it's a great idea. It helps keep people safe, makes it safer for Vancouver residents and drug dealers alike, and it could potentially be the road to recovery, if the clinic also provides resources to help addicts stop and get their lives together.
What are your $0.02?
sellin h kinda sucks though i mean all you get is a fiend chasin you down with a bunch of crumpled up ones lmao
what tje fuck? lol thats like encouraging people to do H
How? It's like condoms. They're not saying "GO OUT INTO THE WORLD, CHILDREN AND HAVE SEX" they are saying, if you do it, be safe.
The logic behind this is very similar to that behind sexual education.
Besides, I am quite sure that they screened who was let into the clinic anyway - only people whom they could prove were addicts were allowed, I think.
