I tried this last night, at about 250mg.  Around 30-45 minutes later my body starts to feel very heavy, and every time you breathe it feels really good, almost like you're letting out a deep sigh.  The one thing about the physical effects that is bad is the dry mouth.

Around an hour later start getting very tired yet I can still keep myself occupied enough to stay awake.
Music on this is pretty awesome.  You hear things in songs you have never previously heard.  It actually seems as if you're more mentally "in tune" with the song.

There are slight visuals I had, like blots of colour and weird shadows but overall they weren't really scary and I could tell that they were illusions.

Next, if you try to have a conversation on this, you will fail badly.  Your memory totally goes awry and every other second you will forget what you're talking about, and then have to put in effort to retrieve that thought.  You actually feel quite dumbfounded when it happens.

Definitely a mindfuck if u ask me

I trip every time I take anti-histamines.   Last time I saw black blobs invading my room.  I freaked out and ended up wedged between my wall and bed.  Ironically I didn't plan to trip, I simply could not fall asleep due to leg pains.

it's bad enough without medication, but otc sleeping pills, and my trazodone both bother it so fucking badly

It pisses me off when doctors prescribe trazadone off-label as a sleeping medication.  Its sedative properties are very weak and it does not help me sleep.  It's an antidepressant, not a sleeping pill.  Xanax or Halcion are much better at preventing RLS.  Then there's also Mirapex, but it has so many weird side-effects that I wouldn't dare touch it.

i want to be put back on my ambien or lunesta but my doctor won't listen

They never do...
You have to be extra-manipulative to get the medicine you need; doctors don't like to prescribe good drugs because of the fear of being sued and their false pretense of "worrying about you getting addicted."  Most that I've met don't care at all.

that shit does nothing but irritate my RLS

Heh, I forgot all about that side-effect. That's another reason why I can't sleep while on diphenhydramine - my brain feels like sleeping but my legs feel like moving.

I've tried diphenhydramine and dimenhydrinate many times, but I'm pretty much done with them for now.  I don't like the heaviness of the body (particularly in the limbs) and the hallucinations can be pretty scary (I don't remember how much I took but I saw people walking around outside my house who would disappear when I opened the door and would reappear when I stepped back inside).  I don't know what's wrong with me, but for some reason they don't let me sleep, because I'd get terrifying hallucinations with the light off.

Not my drug of choice, but hey, almost anything is worth trying once.
