I didn't say you had to have an opinion on everything, I said just because something doesn't affect you doesn't meant that you shouldn't have an opinion on it. I don't have an opinion on a lot of things, but I certainly don't use the "Well it doesn't affect me, so I don't give a shit" card. Legalization of weed has a LOT more to do that with allowing people to smoke it, and the fact that you can't recognize that is ignorant. Again, just because you don't use weed, doesn't mean you shouldn't care about it's role in society. Especially since it's such a huge topic. At the very least you could be against it, even that would make more sense to me than to just not give a shit because you don't use it. As if you using it is the only way it'd affect your life at all.

Resources and money wasted, that could be spent on lots of things that are more important and likely do affect you in some way or another. Money and resources wasted on something that's pointless. Your tax money wasted on a pointless "war" instead of towards health care, or some other shit you Americans need money for.

This is not an argument. The government spends FAR more money fighting drugs than they would on potential taxes they could place upon the sale of marijuana.
I want marijuana to be legalized or decriminalized. I think the "war on drugs" is ridiculous (for marijuana anyway). It's an impossible battle to win, costs BILLIONS of dollars, and is fighting something that is pretty damn harmless.
I am pursuing a career in law enforcement and the only thing holding me back from applying with police agencies is the idea that I would basically have to stop associating with certain friends, or at least really limit my contact with them... just because they smoke or sell weed.
Personally, I don't smoke which is why I don't give a shit if it is taxed, but I don't want to have to lose friends because they use a harmless drug
