Girls had a role of having very little education, then getting married and having babies and raising them. When a teenage girl has a baby now people automatically think "She won't look after it, she will be too busy going to parties and getting drunk and buying little mini skirts for herself etc" It's a stereotype. Its not really a sterotype. Thats what abortion is for. They don't have to keep it. I mean that it is a stereotype that they will be a typical teenager and not look after it. They will want to do other things. Thats why they shouldn't have gotten pregnant in the first place. Teenagers are in no way ready for that because well teenagers are not selfless. I don't mean that. I mean that is a stereotyped teenager - they don't want to look after a child. When in fact I know a few teenagers who had babies and they are they proudest people in the world. And love and care for their baby so much. But good things are never put in the spotlight. People only ever want to hear that someone did something bad just to have something to talk about.

Because these days teenagers are allowed to do what they wan basically, and are into parties and having fun etc. Years ago it wasn't like that. Girls had a role of having very little education, then getting married and having babies and raising them. When a teenage girl has a baby now people automatically think "She won't look after it, she will be too busy going to parties and getting drunk and buying little mini skirts for herself etc" It's a stereotype.
It's a stereotype.
Maybe its cause those good teenagers are rare. Also the fact that society seems to be more excepting of the fact that teens are getting pregnant. I mean its just not the shocker it once was. Now some schools even provide a daycare center so teen parents can drop off they're kids for the day. I used to feel sorry for the 50+ pregnant girls at my school but I don't. They're reason for they pregnancy is "oh well you know it just happened" and yes I have gotten to know a good amount of them. But honestly I think this is just an excuse for why they couldn't keep they're legs shut. People just don't have limits. They wanna push things till it gets to far to go back.
On top of that you'd think they'd learn they're lesson ya know? But no. Most of the girls who have been pregnant have 2 kids. I'm sorry but when you hear the struggles that the teen and the baby go through its just so sad. (living on wealfare, no dad, no financial income, they drop out, the teen's own parents must take care of the teen's child, ect) I'm not saying EVERY teen pregnant is like this but statically this is usually what happens. Teens also have NO idea how much it cost to raise a kid.
I feel like if society made it more of a taboo then less pregnancies would occur. I mean when something is taboo it is looked down upon and people don't do the thing that is considered wrong because society is against them. Society even prosecutes people who commit incest and things like that for example.
Instead society glorifies teen pregnancy in my opinion. Look at Juno and Jamie Lynn Spears. I mean teen pregnancy is just getting more and more common people just don't care. Or how about those girls from Massachusetts who actually planned to get pregnant? Plus in the media when a celebrity has a baby bump they get loads of attention and attention is something that lots of girls want.
The thing that angers me most is that most but not ALL teens just dump the kids on to its grandparents. I mean it just makes them less accountable for their actions. The grandparents have to suffer because more often then not the teen fails as a parent. Often times the teen has to raise their child alone because their partner has left.
I'm not being biased to girls either because its the boy's fault just as much as hers. Many girls at my school has fatherless babies.
We have come a long way, and society haves norms that have been here for years - Although females had to fight for a long period of time to obtain them; like getting post secondary education, being considered equals in the work place, etc - Before females hardly had any rights and therefore having kids, taking care of the house, etc, was the norm. After years of struggle to obtain all this things it's shocking that kids take it for granted and don't think about the repercussions of their actions.
Before females didn't have the chance to get an education and staying at home with their moms learning the choirs was their type of education. By the time they were 15 they probably knew things well enough, although maybe weren't mentally prepared for it. Now, we have studied things like this to depth and we know that most teenagers aren't mentally or physically prepared to have a baby. Considering that as a society we achieve for the common good and teenagers who aren't mentally, physically, financially, etc, prepared are not exactly a good example of a good parent. As a society we want the best for all our individuals, and to do this and improve as a society we need to secure the childhood of it's members because is the most important factor of socialization they have. Having immature irresponsible role models as parent's isn't exactly setting a good example in their lives and will probably mark lot's of aspects in their development. Now, I know not all of them are like that but generally speaking, they are.

ABORT ABORT ABORT
i would NEVER abort a child
Becuase bak 200 years ago kids were almost grown up by the time they hit puberty. There parents taught them how to survive and live and they knew how to keep themselves alive. Now days most of the teenagers that do end up pregnant, it happened to them and they don't want it because they don't want to have to deal with a child at there age.
Also because now we are living longer due to improvements in food and medicine. In those days they didn't live to be 50 or even one hundred years old. So they didn't have to wait to have kids.
