i don't know if my parents will be supportive, however. my mom is just opening her own business and divorcing my drug-addicted father. i'm not sure if i'm that high on their list of priorities, which i can understand.
i understand the rigorous training needed, the time, the little to no social life. and i'm ready. because dance is what keeps me alive. i don't care if it kills me with pain, as long as it keeps me alive.
another problem? at 5'8'' and 130 pounds, i believe i may be too tall and too heavy to be a good ballerina. does anyone know the ideal weight for a dancer of my height?
finally, does anyone have any tips in pursuing this dream?
130 lbs is totally not too heavy for your height. You might be under weight if anything. Google search "Teen BMI" and then you can figure out where you should be. I would talk to your mom seriously about getting into good classes in your city. It's best to start dancing when you are still young!

i've danced since three, but the training was rather half-assed until i was nine. nine to twelve i had really really good training and i REALLY started to get into it after that.
I was on my way to becoming a professional but I hurt my ankle. If you are 5'8" I suggest you get down to 120. Getting into top companies can be difficult if you aren't the right weight.

i was thinking around that area
Honestly, If you know whats best for you Ballet isn't the way to go.
