Fair?
Would you? I mean, why would you pay $100's a month for something just so someone else gets to use it. I wouldn't.. that's just a bad investment, don't you think?
If I were you, I'd talk some sense into your parents and tell them to get rid of the money drain. Tell them to use that money to have a nice dinner out once a month or so. Now THAT would be fair.

Get your own car, pay for your own insurance, then its all your decision. I didn't ask what to do, I asked if it's fair or not, of course it'd be easier to have one's own car but that's not the easiest thing to acquire. True. It is fair though if you are under 18. Regardless of who pays for insurance, they still have financial liability. Now, if it was your car, and you payed for everything, it would be a little out of place for them to restrict you on it.

What if you're over 18?
do u own haklf and half? because if its just your name on the title then its your car. so you can do what you will with your car.
Nope, just their name.
wait did they BUY the car, or did you buy it?
They bought it, that's why it's in their name.
Unfortunately, parents don't always have to do what's "fair."
I know but the question is whether it's fair or not.
