I've been looking for a full time job since I left college in June. I have a part time cleaning job that brings in some money but that's all. A month or so ago I had a job interview for the role of a support worker, which means working with disabled people. I got the job, yet turned it down because I felt it just wasn't for me.

I've wanted to work in social care for a couple of years now but recently I've realised something... It's more so my Mum's dream then mine. I, honestly, want to be a games journalist.

I've decided I'm not in a rush to land a career, after all I'm only 18. So I applied for a job over the Christmas period at Gamestation. Today I get a call and I have an interview on Saturday for it.

I'm really pleased but I think people expect more of me. In comparison to being a support worker, I guess it's nothing. But it's something I'd like to do.

Not sure where I'm going with this topic. I just wanted to see if other people realise that they have been carrying out their parents dreams instead of their own?

You just need to do what you want to do, screw what anyone else expects of you

I'm going to med school for my father's dream, yeah.

But it's mostly because I don't have a career directed dream of my own. I don't mind.

lol that's so weird, I've just applied for a job at Gamestation too. I passed the first interview, got my second interview on Thursday.

If it's a Christmas temp job, they will no doubt put you into a Roleplay sales situation. Good luck =)

Like your screenname... if you don't like it, don't do it!

You should really follow what makes you happy; take what others expect of you with a grain of salt.
