Except buying a car in the states is not worth it anymore because the border will collect the difference in the tax it charges you.

Dude, I know how it is to go to Minot (close to the border, close to Sask). That place, compared to here, is fucking ridiculously cheap. Half price cheap. Worth the trip, if you're going to buy a lot, or buy something big (car, anyone?). Add that to black friday (which we DONT have, since its not Turkey day here. We dont even have it on our turkey day), and holy shit!!!! Savings!!! And I'd like to point out that never once has my "out" rhymed with "hoot". Thanks.
exactly. lower taxes, lower prices, different products. also, end of summer/fall is the biggest season for senior tours. it isn't as hot, cheaper rates. that's probably why you're seeing lots of busses. |

When I lived in El Paso, I had a similar problem. Why did Mexicans keep coming late at night on Halloween to trick-or-treat... when CLEARLY everyone's lights were already out?

Because everything in the US is soooo much cheaper especially things like clothes. And its not just a bit cheaper, its like half price on shoes in some cases and just more selection. I usually drive the 2 hours to grand froks, ND two or three times a year for shopping. Its definetly worth the drive.

The dollar difference is hardly worth the bother. It's pennies, but gas is really cheap in Canada, so why not take advantage of it to travel? I'm sure they don't care about your 'dah-leers' or your Target, they're probably just stretching their legs and using the toilet.
