I'm 17 and i only usually get 2 to 3 days a week of work. My second week I was working I got 4, now its 3 or 2. Is this fair? I work at a supermarket.

Is it fair? Sure. You're working 2 or 3 days a week, so 10-15 hours. For a 17 year old, that's not bad. It's true that it's summer and you can work more, and probably want to, but there are other people who need hours too. If you want more, talk to your supervisor.

I work at Best Buy. When I first started, I got like 20 hours a week. When I went to school, I was still getting 12 or so...then it got decreased to 4-8 (one or two shifts a week after school). This lasted for quite some time. My supervisor never gave me more even though I asked her. She always gave them to other people. That wasn't fair. But now, there's a different supervisor, it's summer again, and I generally work 32 hours a week (four 8 hour shifts) because I said to give me as many as there are available.

Talk to your supervisor. In the beggining of your job you were trained and it took time. They say practice makes perfect there for you have practiced and its someone elses turn at those hours.

This has nothing to do with fair, it's what there is. You get however many hours of work they assign to you, that's their choice. If you want more hours go and talk to your supervisor.

You should be getting more. I used to work at least 5 days a week when I worked at a supermarket.

What do you mean, is it "fair"? They can give you as many or as few hours as they want.
Karen18 Posted at 1:10 pm on June 30, 2009
How many hours? Of course it's fair, they can give you as much work as they fucking want to.
