I must have applied to a hundred now at least. There's one thats come up for waiting. Its asking that experience is essential Could I just add an imaginary cafe to my CV from the last city I lived in and say I worked at it for two years. Waiting can hardly be that complicated a job can it? I'm getting no where with honesty.

Any job whether you're the CEO or the cleaner is important in any company. Get off your high horse and thinking you're too good for the job and maybe they'll hire you. joule Posted at 4:42 pm on June 15, 2012 I'm not a big advocate of lying, but what's the downside?  They catch you, fire you and you're out of a job.  How is that any worse than your current situation?  It's not like you're claiming to have technical or medical knowledge, the absence of which could cause problems. Its just waiting, its not a professional job. even if it's not for a professional job, they generally do check up on your references. and if you start saying stuff like it's closed down in a different city/country that definitely raises alarm bells too. anyway even if you do get the job it will be pretty obvious you've never actually held a job as a waiter. it's not that it's incredibly difficult, but there's definitely going to be things they'd expect you to know/handle that you may be clueless about. either way it does you nor the employer any good if they're just wasting their time with you because you lied. An outright lie can easily be caught but a lie with some truth is harder to detect. So, if you ever helped a buddy out just word it all fancy as a job. It's very easy to Google what's on your resume. I mean, I'm not going to claim that 100% of liars get caught, but if they don't then they certainly do well at faking Facebook pages, Yellowpage listings, and news articles.
