im setting up a website for a 15 hour exam.. ive done the work but i have to duplicate it at college.. the only problem is alot of my images are .png files with transarency effect.. the school is using internet explorer 6 and the transparency effect doesnt show up.. its just blue!
i tried to get around this by copying the background image and adding it to the background of each transparent image but its not gona work because it has to be pixel perfect and .. well its just not gona work!
to evidence our work we have to print all the stuff out.. we can use screen shots.. so i was going to just take screenshots in dreamweaver except i cant seem to be able to get rid of these table outlines... anyone know how to?? it would save my life!
thanks for your help though.. the situation has been resolved.. i was able to work out how to remove the table outline ... its VIEW -> VISUAL AIDS -> TABLE BORDERS (untick).. for anyone who is interested..
thanks again :D

I admit, I don't use them really at all, but they are still useful. Such as, little images here and there, spacers, etc.

PNGs can operate as spacers. Not quite sure what you mean by little images.
Quote: from JeremyM at 2:22 am on May 8, 2008 IE6 does support transparency in images, my friend. It's something you're doing wrong. Those table "outlines" in dreamweaver can be turned off somewhere in the preferences. I can't remember where, as I don't use tables. I use divs. It does not support PNG transparency well at all. Take screenshots of it on your own browser at home, upload them to your school user account, and access them in the exam. Either that or reduce the images to 8bit (should be almost lossless) and save them as gifs.

Well, it's for an exam...so I'd just convert them to gif's and call it a day. Fuck PNG's anyways.
Can't you just view it in your browser ?
the only stuff i can print out is during the exam.. and the computers dont have IE7...
its just such a pain in the arse! I could understand if i had to submit the website but i dont.. its just the screen shots!
