I would really want it to be dual core, and would prefer AMD. I have no idea where to start. Do I need a new motherboard or can I just buy the processor? Any recommendations on what model? I'd like it to be under 200. Thanks in advance.

Replies Ayien Posted at 8:25 pm on Dec. 19, 2006 Keep in mind that any drastic hardware change will result in the inability to use your current Windows installation. I upgraded mine and was not able to use Windows. So before you buy like a madman, ensure you backup anything you need before the transfer of hardware. Good luck. Well it depends on the motherboard. If you're looking to buy a new mobo, you can get a new processor to go with it. How much do you want to spend total? If you get a new motherboard, you have to make sure it has similar specs to the one you have now.
