This may seem like a dumb question, but I feel it's a legitimate one.

Can a mic for a regular desktop computer be used on a notebook. And I dunno if it matters or not, but the notebook would be running Vista.

get a USB mic, most new laptops have a built-in mic

I don't see why it would not work. And I doubt the operating software is going to effect it much.

Should work ok..

Vista just means the software is more confusing.
try connecting & setting it up.. should work ok unless the software isn't compatable.
