However, in both classic and vista view it says that control panel is empty. :o There is nothing to click when I open control panel. I have vista by the way, and it acts up a lot.   I'm kind of worried because I accidentally ran a system defrag for like 45 seconds, and the person I was talking to said "Oh, don't close the defrag or else it will delete any files it's working with". Of course I had already closed the defrag, (I had only opened it because I was curious and this person told me to :P). Anyway now I have a non-working printer. The printer is hooked up right; it's recognized when I try to initiate the print job. It just won't actually print. Plus I have an empty control panel. Help?

Replies pleaseremove Posted at 4:52 am on April 18, 2008 If you closed the defragger using the close button it will not cause any issues. If you closed the process from task manager then it may cause a couple of issues. Also, there is no need to even look at it, it runs automatically in Vista. I restart is your best option, then goto the control panel, and printers, then right-click on our printer and select properties, then try a test-page from there (bottom right). swirnoff Posted at 3:34 am on April 18, 2008 in ControlPan>Printers window right click to select "add new printer", then follow the instructions Lewdness Posted at 8:41 pm on April 15, 2008 If you haven't already, try uninstalling and then reinstalling the printer driver. Might want to check the printer company's site for it. About the control panel, I had a friend with that problem and it had something to with the software licensing. What kind of printer do you have? You should run a complete defrag to avoid anymore problems with missing files or folders. All 6 previous replies displayed.
