Replies scalywag66 Posted at 3:22 pm on July 18, 2008 Well, I found out that there was another recent copy of the 'TCPIP.sys' file along with an old file from back in 2002.   And so what I want to do is delete the newer tcpip file and rename the old one from 'tcpip.sys original' to just 'tcpip.sys'.  Once that is completed, I uninstalled the NIC driver, rebooted the pc and reinstalled the NIC driver and now, he's back online!!! Thanks for the help DJ Josh Posted at 3:52 pm on May 23, 2008 If he is on a router, have him try to connect to that and then he should be able to see IP settings that the modem is receiving and sending out. Hell, even some modems have administrative options, try to log in there. An example is that generally these settings are found at http://192.168.1.1 but some routers don't. If you still don't have internet call your ISP and bitch to them you broke it being stupid, I bet that they will love you guys. All 2 previous replies displayed.
