Even now, watercooling radiators use fans, and thermal electric units still use fans as well. There are very few fanless computers, and those that are use very little power, which is a tricky thing to balance power usage with processing power. I disagree on the fact more power means more heat, because basically it's all depending on how much wattage it intakes to process memory. the more watt the hotter it will be put it that way. Jay JWLH Posted at 4:23 am on June 25, 2008 If the hot air is being taken out of the computer properly, then the issue might just come down to the heat-sink/fan on top of the CPU instead. In a case like that, no additional fans would be helpful. Once you do get a new one though, don't forget to get some decent thermal grease. Without it, you are going to have serious problems. Thanks to applying my own grease instead of the stuff that came with the CPU, I think the temperature has dropped by a noticeable amount. Tursi Askari Posted at 4:09 am on June 5, 2008 What cpu? Are you OCing? Cleaning out the dust, rearranging cables and putting in 2 good case fans (80mm-120mm) is usually a good start, then look at a new heatsink. You still use fans? I can't believe LW's servers aren't running on plasma cooling yet.
