| I put it in a VM. It was slow prior to enabling the processor virtualization thingy (it's half tweleve in the morning, I'm allowed to not remember it... Intel VT or some such?), and now it's runs like a dream. No aero because the VM won't let it run the Windows Experience Index thing, but I shook a Window today and that made me feel powerful ;) Lappy gets a free upgrade to Windows 7. Based on what little I've played with in the VM, me wanty. |

| I would like to get Windows 7. I am in a minority when I say that I actually like Windows Vista over Windows XP. (I still prefer OS X, though) Windows 7 is a more functional, faster, easier-to-use version of vista. No real new features besides the new taskbar (which is great because it mimics the functionality of the OS X dock without looking like the dock or feeling like they were stealing from apple. Microsoft is trying to get users to focus on what applications they are using rather than what windows they have open.) |

| I have no idea what you're all talking about. I should probably leave the tech forum now... |

| I cannot wait until it comes out for retail. Microsoft will need some serious marketing though to avoid another mishap like Vista. |

I've been using it since some of the early betas and I'm delighted with it. The RC is pretty much my main OS right now with XP installed on another partition. I'm just really liking the speed and the features like the taskbar and libraries. |

| It's the main OS of the laptop in the living room... Seeing as it only had 1GB of ram, and vista use to be a little long booting, i decided to install it. Best decition ever made... It feels as responsive as my 6gb vista pc. |

I want to get my hands on it and try it out, but I'm still going to stick with Apple. :) |

| Admittedly it's been several months since I last tried it, but my impression then was basically Vista minus most of the nasty issues. It's FAR faster than Vista, possibly faster than my XP installation, generally just functioned better, UAC is actually usable now, etc. I still have a few issues, such as none of my wireless cards working with it properly (though that was likely because of using the same drivers - they worked, but just like under vista they had sever latency issues), and a few other things easily attributable to it being a beta at the time. Overall, I don't really want to say impressed, since this is what Vista ought to have been in the first place, but it's worth using. |

| So far I like it. I'm still using the Beta on this system, but my laptop got the RC up and going. It's been nice so far and I like it quite a bit more than Vista. One thing I really like is how it connects to wifi networks so quickly, even after a hibernate or sleep. Vista would take FOREVER. |

i've decided not to mess with it yet... i've gotten too used to vista...i might replace the ubuntu side of my machine with w7 though...just depends on weather i need it or not
actually, user interface wise it is a very very slightly step from vista. couple of differences, but mainly in setting up more than general use. Aero is the biggest difference and you can use it like it is Vista, although there are so many more features that are really handy I don't know why you would. I have probably clocked up an hour with the new Aero and already I find it very natural to drag windows to the top to maximise etc. |

| I'm still using beta, doing fine. When does the beta stop working? August or something? I need to get around to upgrading to RC1 or going back to XP until 7 is in release stage. |

| Haven't tried it. Vista was a mistake, so XP is the farthest I will go, until I get my own mac. |

| Mine's been dual booting to it since a few days before it was released. it's great. if this doesn't make apple fanboys shut up, nothing will. i had some complaint about it but i can't remember. it was something minor but slightly annoying. idk what though lol |
