does anyone know a way where i can connect to my home computers from school? I was looking at ssh tunneling to do the job along with getting past website filtering for when I get on networks that have that enabled.

This is a program called log me in. If you have the program installed on both computers, you can access the desktop and most programs through a web browser. There's also an option to do it without downloading extra programs.
