Basically i have taken my Mac back to OSX after it's time as an Ubuntu machine and I'm looking at getting it working just how i would like. I want your suggestions for the best free Mac software out there. It doesn't have to be open-source, although always nice. These can be productivity apps, music editing, web browsers, whatever. Hopefully if we get enough this could turn into a nice little list for Mac users.

I'm on 10.4, and if this list is every going to be any good, i would expect all the apps to be 10.4 and above and available as a universal binary. They are part of iLife which is not free software, it is pay for software that happens to come with new Macs. So you either have this anyway which means you don't need it as part of the list, or its not free and doesn't qualify to be on the list. Thanks for your suggestions so far though, hadn't heard of a couple of those.
