I Just got an 8 GD iPod and i was wondering, roughly how many songs would that would be able to store? :)

I would say about 1500 or so. Because from experience, Apple uses the lowest quality of songs for their averages and most of the music you have will be of higher quality, therefore less will hold.

2000 songs OR 10 hours of video, not both.

Really?  Cause a full length movie is usually about 700-800 MB, which is less than a GB obviously.

Unless you're putting all your favorite movies on it at once I don't see the need to shell out more money.
