My problem is when i try to charge them up only 1 of 4 will charge. The rest come up with a red warning sign on the charger. Could this be the battery's them self? or the charger? Keeping in mind that they haven't been charged up in a few months. Thanks.

Sounds like it's time to get new ones. In the past, I've been able to recharge some batteries at least 8-10 times approx.
