All of a sudden, I cannot connect to any major site.  I tried (and failed) to connect to:
myspace.com
facebook.com
aol.com
yahoo.com
google.com
etc...

The only site I can connect to is golivewire.com

I know its not my browser because not 30 seconds before I was on myspace.com and yahoo.com and both worked fine.  I even used another browser to try to connect and it still said the server is unavailable.  I can understand maybe one of the websites is down, but all of them?

Restart your computer, and clear all cookies, temporary files, and history. Then see about using openDNS, for more info on that go to openDNS.com Also it  could be a router problem if you use a router, try resetting it by unplugging it from AC power for about 5 minutes and see if that helps.

Restart your computer to flush the DNS cache, it might just be that the DNS list wasn't retrieved correctly or it was corrupt. Try restarting your router too (if you have one). If it still doesn't work you might try to change the DNS servers in your computer/router to the OpenDNS ones: 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 (more information here.)

If you don't want to, or can't do that, then you'll have to wait a few hours for the new DNS updates to be retrieved from the DNS server, assuming none of the other options worked.
