It is just a network with no password protection or encryption. It means that you have free access to it, but all information being sent to you and all information that you send can be monitored. Also, while you are connected to the network, they might be able to get into your computer through the network.

It means it's fair game.

Wouldnt advise it.. Means anyone can connect and try and connect to your computer! If they dont connect to your computer they can just monitor network traffic and collect your URL's, Passwords and if you loggon to banking sites your banking information!

That just means it's not password-protected. If you connect to any unknown network, you run the risk of the owners viewing your information. Everything you do can possibly be monitored.

anyone retarded enough to leave it unsecured won't know how to monitor data flow.

i leave mine unsecured PURELY so i can see what other people are doing on it, then after i get bored with it, i set my DHCP server to give everyone with their mac address a primary and secondary DNS IP which no matter what page you try to view, will send them to Lemonparty

just means that the data to and from the network and your computer is easily read by people who want to/know how to intercept it.  unencrypted data stream.

don't use your credit card over it, but other stuff should be fine... :P

There are chances.

It means it doesn't have firewall/password protection on it.  And no its fine but its probably your neighbor's but its their fault for not protecting it.
