| Due to the nature of anti-virus programs, especially those that have on access protection, your computer will be slowed down when using them. The more features an anti-virus has, the higher the chance of it slowing down your computer. However, Avast seems to be able to do a decent job and do it to an extent that you may forget it is even there. |

| Try Avast! The home version is free - it's reliable and doesn't slow down or freeze your PC. |

Avast runs well enough on any system I have used. Is available for free and does not significantly slow down a 1.3ghz soc.423 P4 with 384mb PC800 RAM.
wow thats a shit pc lol
That is a decent PC from 2001. The only problem is that the price of PC800 RAM never went down, still costs a shit-load to add just 256mb to it. As it has to be dine in pairs and was only popular with servers and workstations. |

They all will but just keep away from Norton. It's good but it takes up a lot. I have NOD 32 Buisness Edition and it works great. 54
