It had found 896 viruses and had only scanend 408mb of the 19 gb hard drive! Since it was taking so long to scan I stopped it because my bro would need the computer. It tried to remove the viruses but it said it couldn't remove them, most of them didn't get removed and I still gotta scan 18gb of the hard drive! Why is it taking so long to scan? And how can I remove the viruses that AVG can't remove? I think the virus is called Sddrop/Worm rf something like that... Any help would be appreciated...

Replies xa04 Posted at 3:48 pm on Aug. 11, 2004 hehe! easy one :). just boot your system into safe mode, do a virus scan that way, but you will need a virus scanner that will run in safe mode. or boot up into safe mode with networking (only in windows xp). and connect to the net, do an online scan @ http://housecall.trendmicro.com and remove all the viruses trojans what ever..., hopefully your using a router which will help protect you from hackers since you won't have a firewall up in safe mode... Is there anyway to skip scanning the system restore folder so I can just scan the rest of the computer? It's an anti-virus package, it's quick and gets rid and fixes 99% of the problems. All 10 previous replies displayed.
