My friend was having the pink itunes thing and someone recommended checking the color to make sure its at highest color and not medium and he changed his to highest. Will it affect anything like mess up his computer or anything?

The monitor will try its hardest to display what you tell it to. If it doesn't have enough colors or it can't change its resolution to the size you want, it'll substitute a solution.
