I'll give someone 2000 points if they can find a way to connect my PS3 through HDMI into my laptop, and use it as a screen.

I'm not sure if it's possible, but 2000+ points if you find a working method.

You need a cord,
i think they sell them at gamestop?
Get a PC transmitter cord that plugs in through usb.

My laptop has an HDMI port built in... :s

 Oh,

Not for the laptop, I guess.

If your Laptop has an HDMI input or mini HDMI input just use that, however most of them are outputs only.
If you want to use your laptop as a creen you will have to get an addon (pcicard or USB ) video card it's a tv tuner card for a laptop and they will not give your laptop better performance just let you plug it to a tv signal (VGA, coaxial, component, and even HDMI) there are lots of different ones but HDMI ones would be more expensive then getting an LCD monitor with DVI inputs and using that for your PS3 a HDMI cable and a DVI to HDMI adapter.

I was thinking it would be output only, but I was hoping there would be some kind of software I could use...

Hmm.
