This will bring together all the scattered file fragments and writes them into joining clusters. This will in other words free up space on your hard disks. No matter the operating system you have (I'm assuming you have Windows) you can easily assess this utility. You can either search for "defrag" or find it in your progams. It shouldn't be too hard to find. Basically when you do anything on your computer, your fragmenting. This is a simple explanation that I found. It's probably in simplier terms than I could explain. Computers do not necessarily save an entire file or folder in a single space on a disk; they're saved in the first available space. After a large portion of a disk has been used, most of the subsequent files and folders are saved in pieces across the volume. Fragmentation Maps [+]When you delete files or folders, the empty spaces left behind are filled in randomly as you store new ones. This is how fragmentation occurs. It might take a while to complete but it may help you out. Since you have a lot of spaced used up, you will probably need to move stuff to disks anyway.  But after you move and delete the folders/files/programs/etc., you still might want to defrag the disks. I hate waiting :( Storing a lot on your hard drive doesn't slow your computer down, but having lots of processes running in windows at startup, and while your computer is running slows it down. The best thing you can do is reinstall windows (PM me for instructions) as this will leave the computer going as fast as it is brand new!
