I just downloaded a program [game maker if you must know] and it told me the installation was successful, and I tried to run it but it just....doesn't.

It spinners my cursor and pretends to be opening for a minute, then just stops. When I 'run as administrator' it prompts me to cancel or allow, but then does the same thing.

Tell me how to fix it?

Try using something else, like go to safe mode and try and open it, maybe there's another program you have to download in order to open it, like maybe that's a isp patch file.

just a hunch, though.

GAH! Just found out from my wonderful friend Wikipedia, that it doesn't work with Vista. >.<

Toldja :] I've had some major problems on Vista too in trying to play some games.

I'd recommend emailing the makers of that program you tried installing and asking if they're planning to release a Vista compatible version in the future-- or just looking around if there's a patch that can make it work on Vista.

There's apparently something that makes it work, but versions 7+ work so I'm just gonna upgrade.

You might also want to check if your comp is capable of running it. If you're running on Vista, that OS has a hard time running some basic programs.

does the site where you downloaded it have a FAQ or a help section you could refer to? Thats been happening to my internet, I click it, it pretends its loading then stops completely.

I'm not 100% sure about what exactly could be the problem but you could go to "task manager" (ctrl+Alt+delete) and try to make sure the computer isnt trying to do other stuff.

if worse comes to worse I guess you could delete the program completely then re-download it.
