I'm thinking of getting one.

Since I'm only 16 I'm getting the V6 3.8 liter due to insurance reasons.

Basically I just want some opinions on if you personally like them or think they are a good/bad car.

Just spew me some shit to read until I get to pick it up.

I actually own a 2001 Trans-Am WS6 6 speed...and let me tell you it is a GREAT car. I am 17 years old, it is my 3rd car, and I bought it myself and pay for everything for it myself. And no I didn't wreck my other 2 cars, I got rear-ended in my first car and actually still own my 2nd car, a 1995 Mitsubishi 3000GT.

The car does have alot of power and can be imtiminating, I know this from the test drive I went on with it, it actually scared me being able to hit the gas in 4th gear at 40MPH and for the thing to pick up move how it did, especially knowing 40MPH was just the end of 1st gear if I were winding it out...I actually was not going to buy the car because of that, but I reconsidered and bought it, and its been a great decision.

Also there is NO such thing as a "V6 Trans-Am" the V6 model is the Firebird, its not being technical or specific, its common sense and the model of the car itself, the Trans-Am ONLY comes with the V8 engine.

So far I have had NO problems with the car....other then of course prematurely killing my rear tires...you honestly cannot get a better bang for the buck for this car...especially if you go with a 1998-2002 with the LS1 motor...same exact motor as the Corvette, same exact power as the Corvette...pretty much it is a Corvette just with 2 more seats and different body lines etc.

Regaurdless of what people tell you, these cars DO get GOOD gas mileage...MULTIPLE people have pulled 30 (yes THIRTY) miles per gallon out of their LS1 V8 F-Bodies. Of course that is taking it very easy on it, but still 30 is 30 and a 4 cylinder Dodge Neon pulls that as its best MPG.

The V6 cars are decent too, quick for what they are and will run 15's at the track all day, but if I were you I would opt for the V8..spend the extra $$ on insurance and enjoy the car...but if you absolutly cannot get the V8, buy the V6 and enjoy it for what it is, just try not to go crazy modding it, just throw that $$ into the bank and save up for the V8.

Well I hope I helped, anymore questions just ask!

Also ls1tech.com is a GREAT site for getting info on those cars.

That's all the difference in the world.
if you're worried, join up on a camaro / firebird forum,  get the ws6 specific bumper front , rear , sideskirts, trim , tail lamps, headlamps, wiring harness for different lighting, and be on your way.

NO

Firebirds have curves and shape.

They are the same basic car.

Imo the name Camaro alone makes it more badass.

They only look good with the ram air hood scoops

And thats really only the WS6 Trans Am.

The camaro and firebird are the same, the only difference being the rear bumper/lights and front bumper/lights.

Well it shouldn't be hard finding a v6 Firebird.

The Camaros are even easier

Oh god.

Camaros are so plain...
