So it seems our friends Alan Murray (Ford CEO) , Robert Nardelli (Chrysler CEO) and we can't forget Rick Wagoner (GM CEO) have been begging the government.. aka tax payers, for billions of dollars since their business has gone down the shitter. Funny enough they are closing down plants, laying off workers and cutting pay but it seems like the only person who is not making any cutbacks is the boss himself.

They still enjoy flying in their private jetS yes JETS not one but GM and Ford own 8 private jets  who make round trips on a daily basis costing the company $36 million to operate. First class not good enough for you Wagoner?

This is the best quote. "GM has 8 luxury jets in its fleet and apparently does NOT plan on selling any of them in this time of 'crisis'" LOL

Or how about pulling a Steve Jobs and taking a yearly salary of $1. I mean they make what 20 million +. GM and Chrysler are going to go under no doubt whether they get money or not. Ford however will downsize like crazy if they don't get money, but if they do they will stay about the same and maybe only downsize a little. Ford has a strong market with their F-150s, I mean its the work truck of America. Not to mention they have Mazda and a strong market over seas. GM and Chrysler basically only have what they sell in the US, not nearly enough to stay afloat in this internationally driven market.

The big problem for them is their union.  I mean the average salary is around $75 an hour plus insane amounts of benefits.  While Honda and Toyota are paying far less to their employees.

Agreed, If you really wanted to save your company you would be doing everything in order to save money, even if that means your flying coach to Washington. I think 38 million could be used somewhere else no?

When you are a multi-national corporation private jets are necessary however 8 seems a little over kill.

Ford is not in need of help as much as Chrysler or GM.  But I assume they feel if the government is passing out money to their competition they need it to stay competitive.  Chrysler also has a lot of money they are quickly eating away at it but they have a good deal of cash.  GM, well GM is just fucked and they have been for a few years.

Ford needs the money. Just not as badly, and they could possible manage without it. Whereas GM/Chrysler require it.

Eh. Doesn't matter. With management like that, they're all going to be fucked at some point or another.
