So I have had a system in my truck installed for about a year now, and am thinking about adding onto it so I can get more bass. Right now I'm running a 10" JL audio sub hooked up to two amps which add up to about 550 watts. I for some reason don't feel that I really got my money's worth so I'm adding on. What should I do to add more bass? Would you recommend a better amp? More subs? What? I'm actually wanting more subs but am I going to need to change my amp(s) so that they can handle them?

What kinda JL is it?  You should either get another one, or get a really good 12".

I recommend a W3 or if you have lots of cash to spend get a 10" W7.  JL makes fucking amazing sub woofers.  The ampage sounds find though. I mean it definitely wouldn't hurt to get one good amp rather than two "less good" ones.
