ok my friend has to go to court 2maro for a speeding ticket and the cop didn't even get him on radar, he asked the cop if the cop got him on radar or anything and the cop said no he used his "best judgment" and guessed his speed and my friend is gonna try and beat it do you think he will get the ticket dismissed or should he just pay the ticket and say fuck it

dont waster your time just plead guilty

I beg to differ.

I was recently in and out of court for a ticket, and something I noticed, anyone who had even the slightest doubt or had a ticket that was under 10mph got it thrown out. Prosecutors office doesnt want to waste their time on something like that.

Could be different in different areas, but given the OPs situation, I would challenge it.

I'd say, take the ticket and rip it up and just don't go to court. That way, your friend will go to jail and he won't be on the road speeding anymore.

DAMN ASSHOLE DRIVERS! DRIVE 10MPH UNDER THE SPEED LIMIT AND WE'LL ALL BE SAFER!

I just put a K&N in my truck though, and boy does she sound and feel nice. I think it added a few extra WHP. My 0-60 time is a bit faster now. Next up is a Gibson or Borla catback.

Most times if you go to "traffic court" you face a magistrate (or state attorney).

It is best to appeal the ticket rather than pay it, If he pays it he is subject to points against his record, which counts heavily against on his car insurance.

Since the police officer took no reading, there is no proof, and I am sure he will not show up in court. If he doesn't the state will not pursue it and your friend will be dismissed without charges. If the state really wants to pursue it ( I doubt it sincerely, as it is a waste of their time and money more than yours) they will subpoena the cop ( something he will not want either)

So yes, appeal it, it will not hurt. And if he goes there early it'll be over in less than 2 mins, guarantee you.

this time he will just see the judge he will have to go back if he pleas not guilty and give the cop to give the cop a chance

Well theres pretty unfair, he has a good case to fight it

If he has no proof and your friend was not speeding, he might as well try to beat it down.
