If it turns out that isn't the case at all don't even be bothered with the girl. If you're her friend and she's trying to accuse you of stealing something from her, and once again you're supposed be her FRIEND stay away from her. Something is obviously wrong with that supposed-friendship that you guys have. There are some trust issues.
I know you're saying that you don't want to lose a friend, but if she was your true friend she would believe you..but she doesn't believe you. Even though you've told her that you would never do such a thing, she still doesn't believe you. Now do you think a friend would do that to another friend? So would you really be losing a TRUE friend or not? And maybe if you give it some time and leave the situation alone for a while she'll come to her senses.
She's not really a good friend then isn't she? If she can't trust you, then she's not exactly worth having, in my opinion anyway. Tell her once again that it was no way you stole it, and maybe she dropped it or something so you need to look for it?
