Lanzmann "Secretly" videotaped him during the interview - though it seems you can see him glance at the camera. He works within the story. This is similar to witchcraft trial, when the people were accused of having [met] the devil, they wouldn't say, 'Your Honour, the best proof that I have not met the devil is that the devil does not exist'; it would have been the end. No. The tactic was to say, 'Oh, yes, the devil was there on the top of the hill. Myself, I was down [at the bottom]...and in Auschwitz it's exactly the same thing." Today it is widely acceptable that the word only means "liquidation, physical extermination" where as it didn't quite mean that back then. The Institute for Historical Review offered fifteen thousand dollars to ANYONE that could prove that Jews were gassed at Auschwitz. In the end - they lost their money. And more. I've spoken to the author of Four Perfect Pebbles. So what? That just proves that they weren't murdered in the alleged mass extermination. Why weren't they? If they were in Germany during WWII then there's a good chance they were put in labor camps. So? That just means they were put in labor camps. If someone was part of the SS that doesn't mean anything more than "They were in the SS." America put Germans and Japs in Interment camps. You don't think people did die in there? Just think America didn't have food shortages, and all of that great stuff.
