What do you think some of the goals of the terrorists were?

I think the largest goal would have to be, to stress Pakistani and Indian relations to the point of war.

I believe the goals were to:

1. Let US know the terrorists are still around
2. Distress Pakistan & India since both are "enemies"
3. Gain attention from other "terrorists" organizations to fight back
