If nothing else, at least they don't go around brandishing assault rifles on the sides of the road. Hell, in some countries, even the cops themselves aren't allowed to carry firearms at all! (only special forces people and such can, like in Denmark.)
I know there are good cops... who do their job right and keep us safe. My only problem is, cops all seem to have this dumb sense of "brotherhood", so even the good cops are good, the still try to defend the bad cops' actions all the time and cover their asses when they do stuff that's not very honorable.
When they don't mix with each other then it's all good, but when you've got this kind of thing going on... well it's pretty disheartening.
military tradition is among the ten worst cultural mechanisms in the world, it is the cause of much destruction, mindlessness, and despair
Such as?
Because they are the epitome of vile southern military tradition.
Boy, you northerners are a bunch of hate mongering pieces of shit arent you?Im surprised you give us southerners the time of day if you think so poorly of us. I think you need to go and shove your head a little further up you ass so your shoulders arent cold anymore
And what does that have to do with any of this?

You need to know that you have backup and coverage if the shit hits the fanNo, since it isn't controlled or practiced by mature and enlightened people, military tradition is one of the most destructive forces in the world. Not to mention, it is incredibly stupid. I wanna see you go into that job and then see how you feel. People who think its neanderthal or things like that dont even begin to understand the stress from that job. Tell me one good solid legitimate reason why it is stupid. How is military tradition a destructive force? Its a glue that binds people together in trust and companionship under fear and fireits not either or. and its horrible. it causes idiotic suburban police to think theyre gods and causes abuse in the military plus a majorly arrogant attitude

NO, the badge and gun cause that in some cops, not all. The brotherhood is a positive thing that reminds them that they arent alone and will have people they can trust watching their backs when the shit hits the fan
