| Why are you wanting to learn a language? For usefulness? Because you want to? A requirement? You should specify why you want to take a language first. Personally, I say take the Japanese. If you have the opportunity to do so, do it. My high school didn't have exotic languages like that, so I had to wait until I was in college before I had the opportunity to really learn it (it's my major, but I tried to do self-study before hand... didn't work out so well). It's an opportunity to learn something very different than what is usually taught in school and hopefully will give you an insight into that part of the world through the language. |

| French is rubbish, Spanish is easy and useful and Japanese is hard to learn the hundreds of symbols for but is fun to do. I'm currently learning Japanese. |
