Okay so I start my new job tommorow, and in keeping with my new healthy eating plan, I want to bring some fruits and veggies in my lunch.

Question- If I cut up some cucumber and kiwi and put it in an air-tight container and store it in my fridge overnight, then put it in the fridge at work in the morning, will it still be good to eat by lunchtime tommorow?

I never used to bother with fresh foods in my lunch, but I want to start.

Try putting the cut up fruit in a bowl of water with some critic acid mixed in. You can try squeezing a little bit of orange or lime in the water, and that should keep the fruit from going brown for a couple of hours.

Ooo thank you :P

Thanks guys. :P I guess I will check up on the food in the morning and see how it's doing- if it's totally gross I can cut up some fresh stuff in the morning, I guess.

Go to Subway, you can't get any fresher than that.

Sadly, even if I did like subway, there aren't any real resturaunts or anything near the place i'm working.

If you can manage to not cut it up, do so.  Storing for almost 24 hours cut up is kind of stretching it.  With the cucumber, you could just eat it whole.  Take bites of it.  You may look kind of strange, but whatever.  Or find a little knife so you can cut it up as you eat it.  Leaving it cut will make it lose a lot of the flavor.

It might be a little discolored or squishy...
